Leah F. Cassorla

Dr. Leah F. Cassorla, co-owner and voice instructor, studied classically in New York with various coaches and then at SUNY, Buffalo with Dr. Harriet Simmons, but decided instead to pursue jazz at Rimon School of Modern Music in Israel. Rimon is the first worldwide official partner-school recognized by Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

Though her academic pursuits turned toward other fields, Dr. Cassorla has been singing professionally for over two decades and has taught voice throughout her career. She is currently the cantorial soloist at Temple Israel in Tallahassee, where she is also lead singer of Bagels & Biscuits, the Temple house band, a member of Bo’u Nashir, the temple choir. In 2012, she was one of two soloists at the Faith Unity Choir Concert at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.

 

Leah joined KNPS in 2012, is married and lives in Tallahassee with her three great loves; her husband, her three dogs, and her books.
